Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club – July Results
What a change from June. Perfect one day, better the next. And the racing matched the weather. Racing was held over two days, with 4 Junior classes racing on Saturday afternoon, and running their final heat on Sunday. The Rotax and Gladiator boys and girls practiced on Saturday, and on Sunday ran timed qualifying and 4 heats of racing with a final only counts format.
Some good fields across most classes, with 114 entries over the weekend, including 44 Clubman and 44 Rotax.
Birthday boy, Maxim Erickson was kept honest to lead rookies home in a close finish. Alexandra Whitley and Tim Harris raced hard in Junior Evo Heavy, while Scott Hynes was far too good in Junior Evo Light.
Tyler Greenbury found that a blue plate is no guarantee of a race win, as he had to work hard all day in both Clubman Light and Rotax Light. Jack Howard dominated JMax, while Ivo Dal-Cin was equally impressive in Clubman O/40s. Winners of all other Rotax and Gladiator classes won most of their races, and managed to hold off all challenges in the all important final.

Results June 21st at Toowoomba Kart Club
A cool and rainy day provided a rare opportunity for local and visiting karters to hone their wet weather racing skills on Sunday at Greer Park Raceway. So seldom do karters run into a wet meeting at Toowoomba that many left their wet tyres at home, and were obliged to race on slicks.
However, right from the 7 year old midgets, through to the older groups, some spectacular driving was on display all day. Most impressive was Bundaberg visitor and current Rotax National Champion, Kel Treseder, who raced on slicks, and lapped almost the entire field.
Jim Mann from Muffler Kings presented the trophies at the end of the day, and drew out Alex Martell’s name for the ride with him at the wheel of a Qld Raceway V8 Race Car. Alex was left speechless, but is expected to sport a huge grin after several laps of Qld Raceway later this year.
